Noises Off the hilarious behind the scenes farce
This iconic British comedy takes us behind the curtain with a company of actors as they struggle to put together and then finish a run of their new show. Seen from different angles and iterations we watch as our actors’ relationships sour behind the scenes and the impact that has on the show taking place on the stage. Known for its technical complexity and split-second timing, Noises Off was an immediate hit quickly transferring to the West End’s Savoy Theatre where it would run for five years. The show enjoyed multiple Tony award-nominated runs across the pond and numerous London revivals including productions at the Piccadilly Theatre in the West End, The National Theatre, and London’s Old Vic. With its unique take on life in the theatre, the show would go on to become a favourite of professional and amateur theatre companies around the world and even be made into a 1992 film starring with a star-studded cast including Carol Burnett, Michael Caine, Christopher Reeve, John Ritter and Nicollette Sheridan.
